AI Spend Lens — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 July 2026
What the extension does
AI Spend Lens shows an estimated token count and approximate API-equivalent cost for your conversations on Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini, and lets you shorten a draft prompt with the “Shrink” button. It runs entirely inside your browser.
Information we collect
None that leaves your device. To display your usage totals, the extension reads the visible text of the AI page you are on to estimate a token count, and stores the running totals locally using your browser’s chrome.storage.local.
- We do not read, store, or transmit the content of your conversations.
- We do not use analytics, cookies, or fingerprinting.
- We do not send any data to us or to any third party.
Where your data lives
Your daily and weekly totals — and, if you tap the “Pro” interest button, a simple local click count — are saved only in your browser’s local storage. Clearing the extension’s storage or removing the extension deletes them permanently. This data never reaches a network.
Permissions we request
storage— to remember your usage totals between sessions, on your device only.- Site access to
claude.ai,chatgpt.com, andgemini.google.com— so the on-page badge can estimate tokens for the conversation you are viewing.
Cost figures are estimates
Token counts are approximated from on-screen text and priced against public API rates. They are a rough guide, not a bill, and are shown for your own reference only.
